Acupunture doubles your chance of getting pregnant with IVF!

There has been numerous studies and research completed over the years showing that Acupuncture has a profound impact on the success rate of IVF. Of particular interest for us in Australia was a study completed by the University of Adelaide in 2006.

The study involved 228 women and was combined with 3 other Fertility Acupuncture trials to round the study size out to 800 women. During the study, they found that the pregnancy rate was twice as much in the group receiving acupuncture for fertility, compared to the control group.
Why does infertility acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is one of those therapies that scientists still can't work out exactly what happens, however, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence that it works. Some of the reasons IVF and Acupuncture go so well together is:
- Increases blood flow to ovaries and uterus, thereby helping with conception
- Helps balance hormones and endocrine function
- Helps relax the tissue in the uterus, making it easier for the egg to connect
- Reduces overall stress and anxiety (this can be often overlooked, but is very important).
